A Few Last Minute Additions
So it looks like we'll have more room for stuff on the trip out to LA for the DFC Disneyana Expo, so we've added a few more items to the ever-expanding haul including:
- A nearly full run of Belgian Mickey Magazine comics 1-318, missing only 4 issues
- 7 Dalmatian figures from the very rare Seven China series, which predates the film and Enesco series by 2 years
- A full service for 8 of Fantasia-inspired Fantasy Silverplate by Oneide, including reproduction pattern catalog with Fantasia art
- A beautiful Vernon Kilns Milkweed Dance Carafe
- A full tea set from English company Weetman in pastel colors
- An exceptionally rare Disney WWII theatrical program from Dec 10, 1941 advocating the US entry to the war. It should be noted that this was printed prior to Pearl Harbor but for a performance 3 days after Pearl Harbor. One of only 4 known copies.
- A near-complete run of Persistence of Vision magazine, missing only issues 8,9
- An exceptionally rare Canadiana Pottery figure of the Pegasus from Fantasia
- A rarely seen Donald Duck pirate flag only sold at the Pirates Shop in Disneyland waaaaay back when
- Very rare Fantasia R70 door panel poster
- A set of 1951 Walt Disney Character Merchandise Division Catalog pages
And a whole lot more. I'll try to post photos of some of these items in the coming days.

Golden Book Catalog - Fall 1949
Next in the continuing series of Golden Book catalogs comes the second catalog for 1949, the Fall edition. Highlights of the catalog include Cinderella Puppet Show, Mr Toad Big Golden Book, first mention of the Golden Story Books including Mystery in Disneyville, lots of new Little Golden Books, Little Golden Records, books illustrated by Richard Scary, Gustaf Tenggren, and lots more.
Cover features Mickey Mouse hitching a ride from Mother Goose; one of the very few Disney covers in the batch of catalogs that I have. Full PDF download available here (33MB).

Disney Goebel DIS 141 - Bruno
Once again Goebel didn't know who this was. This is clearly Bruno from Cinderella, but labeled as Pluto.

Disney Goebel DIS 135 - Lucifer (?)
Again, not sure, but both TOMART and the German Goebel book list this as Lucifer. TOMART adds "cat with upright tail"
A new photo has surfaced, this time with a named label - Figaro. But, as we've seen in the past, labels can lie. But this sure looks more like Figaro than Lucifer to me.

Disney Goebel DIS 082 - Who is this Mouse?
Recent new pictures have brought the identity of this character into question. DIS 083 is clearly Gus, and really looks nothing like this. Speculation is that this is either another view of Jaq or possibly another mouse from Cinderella, Bert or Mert. The coat color is correct for Bert or Mert.

This new image courtesy of my friend Alfred has some hand written initials on the base, MM, which could stand for Mert Mouse. I'm willing to go with it.
Also the colors on this mouse more closely match those from the film of Mert
