Albedo Cover Gallery

Albedo Anthropomorphics was published over the course of 20+ years, from 1979 through 2005, by four publishers, and had several role playing games as well as a magazine devoted to it.  Below are all the covers in publication order.  TBD - role playing games and Birthright appearances in Critters.

Huzzah (Three Hand Graphics, 1979)

#1 - First appearance of Erma Felna EDF.  

There are other issues of Huzzah!, but none contain Erma stories.

Albedo Anthropomorphic Action Vol 0 (Thoughts & Images 1983, 1986)

Nr 0 - 1st Print 1st State - "Gold" or "Yellow" Cover

A total of 50 copies were printed

Nr 0 - 1st Print 2nd State - "White Cover"

A total of 450 copies were printed

Nr 0 - 1st Print 3rd State - "Blue Cover"

A total of 500 copies were printed. Cover price increased to $1.50. This was how the cover was originally supposed to look (with a yellow table) but there was confusion at the printer.  The yellow was removed simply because it did turn out the way SAG wanted.

Nr 0 - 2nd Print

Same as 1st print 3rd state except has Second Printing on inside back cover.  Cover price has been removed.  A total of 1,000 copies were printed.

Nr 0 - 3rd Print

Same as 1st print 3rd state and 2nd print, has Third Printing on inside back cover, address has also changed.  Cover price has been removed.  A total of 1,000 copies were printed.

Nr 0 - 4th Print

 Printed in 1986, reprints Huzzah content as well as the other Nr 0 content.  Uses the original 1st print 1st state cover art with the addition of the red circle price of  $1.00

Albedo Anthropomorphics Vol 1 (Thoughts & Images, 1984-1989)

Nr 1 - 1st State - "Maroon" or "Dark Red" Cover

Printed 6/1984 using a non-standard color process where each color was custom rather than the standard four color process.  Also colors do vary across the print run as the printer was doing odd little batches as time permitted (as it was off the clock work) and using what colors and mixes were on hand at the moment.  A total of 500 were printed.

Nr 1 - 2nd State - "Red" or "Bright Red" Cover

This is now referred to as the second print, with only the cover being reprinted in 9/1984 with interiors from the initial printing.  A total of 1,500 were printed.

Nr 2

This is the issue that put Albedo on the map - the first appearance of Usagi Yojimbo.  This was originally supposed to be a red screen printed cover, but technical issues prevented that (see Albedo NR 2 Silk Screen Cover).  Only 2,000 copies were printed.

Volume 5 is extremely difficult to find, likely due to the six year gap in publication reducing demand for it, with a corresponding reduction in print run and distribution -- Nr 2 is especially difficult.
