While scavenging a tube to transport a poster to Awesome Con yesterday (still hate that name), I unearthed this print that I purchased at Exoticon back in November 1995 in LA at the Park Plaza Hotel. I went because Combustible Edison was playing, and I was enormously fond of them (and still am). The print is by Shag (a full year before his first gallery show), which was in support of the super cool CD Secret Agent Sounds, performed by a slew of exotica/surf/bachelor pad group back in the swingin' 1990s. I vividly remember buying both the CD and the print because I thought it was so cool. We still listen to the music from the CD to this day. Given the date of Exoticon that year (Nov 4, 1995) and the fact that Shag did not have a gallery show until 1996, this might be his very first print! This one is number 5/88 so perhaps 4 other people bought it before I did that night. Who knows how many survive.

Gund Mini Martian Doll Box Back
I recently found a reference to this toy in an old newspaper ad for various Gund toys from 1967, although at that time they were referring to them as Marteenie Dolls, guess that didn't quite work. Totally digging the space age graphics on the saucer and the design of the girl pilot. Super cool.

French Pathé Cinderella (Cendrillon) Illustrated Album of Picture Discs - 1950
As I have been diligently scanning records for my Alice book, I've also been digging through the erstwhile For Sale section to fill in gaps when I can't find the exact item I'm looking for (I have a slew of duplicates too). Anyway, this item from said For Sale section leapt into my hands begging for scanning. Who am I to say no?
This thing is just so cool I can barely stand it. Original release from 1950 in France, a 78 rpm set of picture disks, with the interior disc sleeves illustrating the story! Why couldn't they have done an Alice, I ask you!
Enjoy!
